Drone video production in central London for an AI launch

Drone Motion was brought in by 8 Seconds and PixelArtworks to capture aerial cinematography for Lenovo’s Aura Edition AI laptop launch. County Hall was transformed into a living canvas, with real-time “auras” of celebrities and influencers projected across the building, while guests watched from a private boat on the Thames with Rylan Clark DJ’ing on board.

Flying here meant working in one of the most sensitive areas in London, surrounded by Big Ben, Westminster and the London Eye, where permissions, safety and precision are non-negotiable.

This project is a strong example of drone filming in London for a global tech brand, combining spectacle, storytelling and serious reach.

Results and brand impact

This was a headline campaign for the Lenovo Aura Edition AI PCs, imagined with Intel.

The activation used biometric sensors and Lenovo Aura laptops to create personalised AI auras that were then projected in real time onto County Hall and across the London skyline, giving guests and the public around Westminster Bridge a full six storeys of moving colour and light.  

According to Lenovo’s media partner Assembly, the campaign delivered:  

• Around 900,000 impressions on the night based on Route data
• 13 million reach through national UK press coverage
• A combined 46.5 million influencer and celebrity reach as talent shared the experience across social channels

Drone Motion’s aerial footage helped show the true scale of the stunt, placing the auras in context with London’s landmarks and turning a one-night projection into long-lasting content for social, PR and case study use.
