Drone and FPV cinematography at the Red Bull Ring, Austria
Drone Motion was hired by Perspective Pictures to deliver drone and FPV aerial cinematography for a large-scale creator production at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. The project supported Red Bull Media House and global YouTuber Lachlan for what was billed as the world’s biggest Fortnite hide and seek challenge ever staged on an F1 circuit.
This was one of our most ambitious projects outside the UK, combining traditional drone filming with high-energy FPV work delivered alongside our trusted partner JS Aerial LTD.
This project reached a truly global audience.
Lachlan is one of the world’s leading gaming creators, with over 20 million subscribers on YouTube, and the main video from this shoot quickly passed one million views, with continued engagement across social platforms. Content from the event continues to live on creator channels, extending reach well beyond launch.
Red Bull Media House used the footage to blend motorsport spectacle with gaming culture, creating a piece of entertainment that resonated across multiple audiences. The scale of the Red Bull Ring, paired with cinematic aerial visuals, helped elevate the concept from a YouTube challenge into a standout branded content moment.
Drone Motion’s aerial footage played a key role in capturing the atmosphere, scale and energy of the production, supporting content that was polished, immersive and built for international distribution.
Using a combination of drone and FPV cinematography, we captured:

For this project, we supported a fast turnaround European shoot with only one week’s notice, coordinated drone and FPV operations across a multi-day schedule and operated safely in a sensitive location near a military base and active race circuit.
The result was reliable, cinematic aerial footage delivered as part of a complex, high-energy production with many moving parts.
